Special Things to do at Walt Disney World

While we were at Walt Disney World for our Wedding-Moon, we managed to try out and experience lots of wonderful things on our special trip.
Doing something new and different each time is really important for keeping trips fun, especially if you're lucky enough to go a lot.

I have a few ideas if you're looking for special things to do, or if you're on an important trip and you'd like to celebrate even more ♥

Afternoon Tea at the Garden View Tea Rooms at Grand Floridian Hotel
We decided to have our "welcome meal" at the tea rooms, we got all our friends and family together the day before the Wedding to meet up and welcome them in the best way.
We got engaged over afternoon tea, so it's something that's really important and special for us now. The GF afternoon tea as perfect, and I can't wait to go back and do it again.

Drink [or eat] around World Showcase at Epcot
This actually followed our afternoon tea and we all got the monorail over to Epcot for the afternoon. When I heard "drinking around the world" was a thing, I knew we had to do it and it was so much fun got us so excited for the day ahead. We split into boys and girls, and made our way around some of our favourite countries for fizz, cocktails and beers. I really adore Epcot now, and even if we are on a trip alone I think taking time to do this [even if it's just for a drink or two] really opens up the pavilions to you and what they have to offer.

 Do aF ireworks Cruise
Later on in our trip we managed to get a few remaining guests to come along on a Wishes fireworks cruise with us. Most of them were leaving the day after, if they hadn't done already, so it was the last goodbye before we saw each other again at the Wedding party.
We got a 10 seat pontoon boat, that left the Polynesian Resort, and went over Seven Seas Lagoon while the fireworks were on. Luckily enough, it was actually Hallo-Wishes that night, which I was so chuffed about as we weren't heading to MNSHHP that trip and our guests had never seen it either. Hallo-Wishes spread out a lot more, and so having the view from the boat was extra special, being able to watch the panoramic views.
We got prosecco and beer [of course!] on the boat, and our driver was so lovely and knowledgeable, it was really an awesome experience.

Get Surrey Bikes around Disney's Boardwalk
This trip was the first time we truly experienced the Boardwalk area of Disney, and I totally fell in love. The Beach Club hotel is #1 on my lust list and the whole place is so lovely and relaxing, taking you away from the Disney buzz but still allowing it to be magical. We decided to get surrey bikes for an hour, at sunset, and made our way around Boardwalk. It was the perfect time of day and really opened this gorgeous area up to us.

Resort Hop and Dine
We love making our way around the resorts, making a list of places we want to stay and generally being nosey. The best way to do this is with dining reservations at the hotels, as there are so many lovely restaurants to eat at. The monorail resorts are particularly gorgeous, and there are so wonderful signature restaurants to explore, as well as more affordable ones too. On our last night we ate at Grand Floridian Cafe [where we had our Wedding meal] before heading back to our hotel, The Contemporary, to watch Wishes on the fire escape stairs- our very own personal terrace.

Attend Mickeys Not So Scary Halloween Party [or Very Merry Christmas Party]
MNSSHP is so much fun, full of characters, trick or treat stops, a different parade and firework show and a great atmosphere full of fun and laughter. Kids and adults both dress up and it's just a really nice thing to do outside of the normal park hours.
We went in 2012 and "dressed up" as Woody and Jessie, meeting Jessie in my outfit was so much fun and it was really a part of our trip I remember and enjoyed so much.

Have a Park or Resort Photo Session
This is great for families, couples or even loved ones and allows you to see the parks or resorts in a different way. We love photos, and having some in the parks before our wedding was so special and I really really love them in our collection.
Most photographers will do resort shoots, and some may take you into the parks too. They can be a little pricey, but I think they capture memories so well, it's the perfect way to freeze that special holiday so you remember it forever.

Challenge the Kitchen Sink
There is a monster of an ice cream that can be found at Beaches n Cream at the Beach Club hotel. It's the cutest little diner type place, serving burgers, hot dogs and of course ice creams!
The kitchen sink is a challenge in it self because it's so big and full of everything [YouTube it to see what actually goes into this bad boy!] so of course we wanted to give it ago.
We had two between 8 of us, and of course my team won! It was so cool, and I just loved the atmosphere in there too.
